Faith and Freedom Network

I’ve added a new link on my Links page. I’m using free software which doesn’t allow links in the blog entries or I would add them here. The link is to the Faith and Freedom Network. Last Sunday at church, my wife and I signed a petition to get Referendum 65 on the ballot in November. If it weren’t for our Pastor playing a video produced by Sound the Alarm, we might not have made the effort to sign. These groups are connected somehow and I may add the other link also.

Ref 65 basically allows voters to decide to keep or reject the following legislation:

ESHB 2661 would add “sexual orientation” to the state’s law against discrimination in employment, housing, credit, insurance, and certain contracts. “Sexual orientation” includes heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality and gender expression, identity, appearance and behavior.

Just a reminder:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights…

Our declaration refers to rights that are endowed by our Creator. It doesn’t say anyone will endow you with more rights than you were born with, based on decisions you make in your life. A persons decision regarding their “gender expression” or “sexual orientation” should not trump my right to raise healthy normal children.
