Traditional or not, I’m eating turkey
I’ll have to comment on John Stark’s Herald article A bumpy road to citizenship some other day because today is Thanksgiving.
I’ve already read the articles casting doubt on whether or not the Pilgrims ate turkey, cranberries and pumpkin pie. And did we share with the Indians or did they share with us? And what’s with questioning even whether they had a table? Who cares? I don’t. I find it easier to believe the traditional Thanksgiving story than it is to believe in Santa Claus and his flying reindeer. And I proudly celebrate Christmas too.
And I, in the true tradition of the Pilgrims, thank God for whatever he puts on our table and whoever is gathered around it.
