Guess who I invited to lunch?
I’ve been a little too busy to get any posts up lately, but Bellinghammer commented on Garden Variety Democrats and so I thought what the heck, I’m here in front of the computer screen, why not let loose with something else that’s been on my mind.
What about this little disinformation campaign that President Obama and some on the left have going on regarding moving Guantanamo prisoners into US prisons. I suppose everyone has heard this radio bullet by Mr. Obama.
“No one has ever escaped from one of our federal, supermax prisons, which hold hundreds of convicted terrorists,”
What in the heck are you even talking about Mr. President? Why are you even talking about escaping prisoners? I’m certainly not concerned with prisoners escaping from either Guantanimo or US prisons. I don’t think anyone is either. And frankly, I don’t think you really are either. I believe that you are engaging in a little presidential disinformation; a little attempt to make those who want to keep terrorist suspects off our US homeland’s soil seem a little bit silly. Com’on Mr. President deal with facts, quit playing media games with these irrelevant and silly bullet points.
Anyone really wonder why the majority of both Democrats and Republicans in Congress don’t agree with President Obama on bringing these terror suspects on to US soil?
Here’s the news flash. I’m not concerned with them escaping from US prisons. I’m concerned with the likes of the ACLU exploiting a technicality or two and essentially holding the door for them as they walk into out communities. And I’m concerned with a President who would set this scenario into motion by bringing them on to our soil.
We don’t often hear of escaping prisoners, yet we regrettably do hear all to often about convicted criminals released into our communities only to re-offend. Remember the freeway shooter in Alger? He apparently had 21 prior convictions, known mental health issues and was still let out. He didn’t escape, he was let out. And remember, President Bush already released over 500 of the supposed least dangerous prisoners and even these “good guys” of Guantanamo appear to have there issues.
Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said 18 former detainees are confirmed as “returning to the fight” and 43 are suspected of having done in a report issued late in December by the Defense Intelligence Agency.
If this is the recidivism rate for the relatively good prisoners, then what will it be for the 200+ worst of the worst who President Obama is asking us to bring into our nation? I suspect a bit higher. Will President Obama assure the US public that ex-Guantanamo detainees will not under any circumstances be released into the neighborhoods of our nation?
Come on Mr. President, these guys didn’t end up in Guantanamo for jaywalking. Please have some respect for the American people’s wishes. Don’t invite even suspected terrorists over for a picnic.
