Is it time for a woman president?

And I could easily see myself voting for Condoleezza Rice not only because she understands national defense, the primary role of our government, but because she is tough. I love it when she stands up to partisan politicians. She does it in such a calculated, simple and direct way. It’s elegant.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Thursday she has already answered the questions she has been subpoenaed to answer before a congressional committee and suggested she is not inclined to comply with the order.

“I addressed these questions, almost the same questions, during my confirmation hearing,” she said. “This is an issue that has been answered and answered and answered.”

Every time I read about her in the press I wonder why she isn’t in the race. Maybe she isn’t into partisan politics? Maybe she understands that right now, doing her job as Secretary of State is very important to the future of our nation? If these are her reasons for not pursuing the office then they only make her more qualified to be in the office.
