The Parkenfarker Group

pf3.jpgThere’s a new local blog in town. Nope, not the NW Idiots. This blog is the brainchild of  an author, moderator and non-idiot fella who goes by the name of Poindexter P. Parkenfarker. Here’s how he describes The Parkenfarker Group.

Poindexter P. Parkenfarker has brought together several conservative thinkers, and added a libertive thinker to create the Pacific Northwest’s newest market of Conservative Ideas.

Here’s how he describes himself:

Poindexter P. Parkenfarker – Former Libertarian. Got sick of losing 100% of the time and signed on as a free agent with the Elephants. Okay, so they’re still an under .500 team in this State vs. the Jackasses, but that’s changing. Individual Liberty is what America is all about, not collective rights, or special rights.

The Parkenfarker Group‘s post for today outlines Which Candidates are most likely to support Individual Liberty at the City and County Levels. I think the post is timely and his thoughts may influence my vote.

I’ve read some of Poindexter’s comments on Herald articles and find him to be pretty knowledgeable and pretty level headed. If the rest of this group is anything like him, then they may just loosen the death grip that the socialist Democrats have on our conservative county.

I had never heard of Parkenfarker until this guy up here started blogging under that name. You might want to give him a shout and see what his story is with the name.

I grew up just south of you (Randle/Lewis Co.) and came across the (Stanley) Parkenfarker monicker about 1973. A real comedian of the logging community, Harry Mason, used this “handle” among many of his other colorful names to identify himself on the CB. I never knew where he came up with the Parkenfarker name. If you have some history, I would appreciate knowing what you can provide; it would help to fill some gaps in my edumacation!

Thanks for the nice comments. There currently are several individuals who allow me to pick their brains for advice and criticism. So far only one of them has stepped forward to write, and will probably stick to sports and outdoors, as he prefers hunting and fishing over political action. Watch for him in a few days, probably post early next week. As for the other folks, there is an incredible wealth of knowledge and critical thinking skills that I am trying to get out into the marketplace of ideas as writers. For now I am honored that they keep me pointed on where to do research.
