Special with cheese, please

I don’t know how many times we’ve uttered that phrase, at the counter of Grant’s Drive-In in Ferndale. I’m sure too many, but we know of no burger that comes close to the special with cheese. And when you throw in a few of Russ’ silly and often off color jokes, the atmosphere can’t be beat. We will surely and sorely miss Grant’s.

Yep, it’s probably more than a rumor, it was in Herald awhile back. I just wanted to be in denial for a little while.

Rumor has it that a Sonic Drive-In is being developed in its place.

  3. everything changes eventually.
    Sad to see it go.
The cruisers, the “drive in’ cruiser resturants, girls serving malts on roller skates,
cruisin’ in big muscle cars and classic cars and big loud bikes…
what do the kids cruise in today?
    Hondas and hybrids and scooters…???

Grants will be missed by many…but hey, we’re going back to the moon, finally!

My understanding, through my wife, is that even though Russ and Linda own Grant’s, they don’t own the land that it sits on. And the land between and around Haggen, Walgreens, Hollywood video and unfortunately Grant’s, is being developed.

  5. I hope all is well with Russ and Linda.
    I love Russ’ jokes!
and Linda is a patient wonderful lady!
and I’ve parked my ’56 Dodge there and picniced on the back flatbed with the kids,
while other more lovely pieces of American Steel were parked up and down the lines, all showin’ off what we got under the hood etc.
I will miss Grants BIG TIME!
Russ has some very nice American Steel that he drives around in.
Each time I think I’ve seen ’em all, I see another…
