Eddie Haskell charm

Early this year I predicted an Obama/Clinton ticket competing with a McCain/? ticket. I also predicted that as a losing proposition for John McCain because overall he isn’t that far removed from his Democrat rivals, with a noticeable exception being his stance on defense.

My how things have changed, and the outlook for a Republican president, albeit not a die-hard conservative Republican president, is looking better and better each day. I have learned a lot more about Sen. McCain and like most of it. He is more gutsy than I thought, less prone to be swayed on Iraq than I suspected, more of a pro-traditional family candidate and especially in the pro-life guy.

Somewhat on the sideline during our nation’s ObamaNation fascination tour, has been Hillary Clinton. Did Mrs. NoPersonality really think she had a fair shot against Mr. Obama? Or was she, and is she still, just staying in the game either hoping for or planning for a big Obama campaign crash? She claims to be done campaigning, but I don’t count her out of the running yet. Heck she may have just decided it would be smart to let the well financed Mr. Obama pay her bills before dropping the sand bag on his head. I don’t recall anyone ever referring to her as dumb, conniving, manipulative and scary? Yes. But dumb? No.

EHWhich leaves me with the presumptuous presumptive Democratic Party nominee. Like with Senator McCain, I have learned more and more about Senator Obama over the last few months. Unlike Sen. McCain though, my opinion of Barack Obama has transitioned from a somewhat harmless but charismatic unknown, to a well connected and very dangerous person. Very dangerous with respect to his passion for the socialist/communist model and very dangerous from his apparent hatred of traditional American views. I’m not saying we should be afraid of Mr. Obama personally, but we should fear for our nation’s future when we look at the laundry list of his friends, aquintences, partners and those who are cheering him on towards victory. The sad part of this story is how so much of our nation is being duped with his Eddie Haskell charm.

Today, I was happy to find that the RNC is actively working to call Senator Barack “Eddie Haskell” Obama on all his bologna. is a site they have launched to introduce America to both the man and his agenda behind the smile. Here is a little sampler.

No qualified presidential candidate should ask you to take a leap of faith.

Look before you leap. Look before you donate. Look before you vote.

Barack Obama is not right for our nation.

In fact, Barack Obama is so so so not right for our nation, that I would rather vote a McCain/Clinton ticket than an Obama/anyone ticket.

Fall of a great nation

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

There has recently been a lot chatter on the Herald Blog about whether conservatives or liberals are or are not fascists.  And while that pointless bit of name calling went on and on for days, Congressman Maxine Waters, a self avowed liberal Democrat from California, almost let the true liberal cat out of their SPCA approved pet carrier.

Oops, did she say socialize

With Democrat Senator Obama running strong, our nation could be just one election away from true implementation of socialism.  We’d be over the hump towards communism.  What a glorious day for Democrats, liberals and progressives everywhere.

Isn’t it about time that media cover the Democratic Party’s role in the rise of socialism in our nation?  After all, won’t future historians need material with which to study the fall of what once was a great nation?

Senator Obama – Muslim, Christian, or what?

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

One of the great things about our nation is that every so often we get a chance to elect like valued people into public office. One of the not so great things is trying to sort their perceived values, from their true values and sort campaign rhetoric, from what are sometimes just outright lies. I don’t necessarily choose a person solely on their faith, but a person’s faith and how sincere they are in their following of that faith can help predict how a person will carry themselves once elected. After all, when the big decisions are made behind closed doors, only God will be watching and I want elected officials who care about what God thinks.

I wrote a post a while back titled Governor Gregoire – Catholic, Christian, or what? because her faith claims and her actions were not in sync. For instance, as a self proclaimed follower of the Catholic faith I would expect her to be pro-life, but her actions as Governor said different. If I had voted for her based on an assumption that she, as a Catholic, would be pro-life, I would be sorely disappointed.

So what of Barrack Obama? I think it’s a stretch to believe some of the stories of Senator Obama being a secret “sleeper Muslim” based on his early childhood and his father’s religious affiliations. I spent quite a few years in an LDS church growing up, yet I am not a obamaMormon. And his very loose affiliations with the Nation of Islam doesn’t make him a Muslim either. Some would argue that even devout members of the Nation of Islam are not really Muslim. So, there really isn’t much to traction for the secret Muslim conspiracy.

But is there anymore traction for believing that he is a Christian? You don’t have to do much Googling to find those who treat him as if he were a messiah and he apparently has attended a Christian church for the past two decades and enjoys a strong relationship with his pastor; but is he a Christian? First, I’ll admit that the ultimate answer to that question rests with Christ and certainly not I, but I do think we voters have a right to consider the state of a candidate’s faith.

So continuing to consider the Christian faith of Barrack Obama, let’s consider his words.

During a campaign stop yesterday in Greensboro, North Carolina, Senator Obama told the audience that he believes he “can have everlasting life” because Jesus Christ died for his sins. But he then told a questioner that he believes Jews and Muslims who live moral lives are just as much “children of God” as he is.

The Illinois Democrat added that his late mother didn’t share his faith but was a kind and generous person, so he’s “sure she’s in heaven.”

OK, I’ve considered his words and have one very gigantic concern. Mr. Obama is obviously claiming that he is a Christian and then following with several statements indicating that he really does not understand Christianity. In John 14:6 Christ said very plainly:

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

The tough love is that you don’t get to heaven on kindness and generosity alone, you don’t get there by being a “moral” Jew, nor a “moral” Muslim and of course you can’t get there on roller skates. You must become a follower of Christ and you must choose to follow him on the narrow road.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. “

Contradicting God’s word, Senator Obama is claiming that the wide gate and the broad road, lead to heaven. It’s my feeling that Sen. Obama is either using false doctrine to gain support in this election, or he is espousing false doctrine because he really doesn’t understand Christianity. I prefer to believe it is his lack of understanding. And this seems quite likely given that his church of the last 20 years, Trinity United Church of Christ, seems confused as to whether they are joined by skin color or by faith in Christ. But if Sen. Obama and/or Rev. Wright are putting forth false doctrine for their own gain, then I pray they would take a glance at this small verse.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
(Mark 8:36 KJV)

And I hope that for the sake of those who look to them for leadership, that they would put Christ’s full message at the forefront of their life and ministry.

Pants afire

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

I’ve kept silent about the topic of religion and Senator Obama, not because I think it is a non-topic, but rather it is such a huge multifaceted topic that I couldn’t figure a good place to start.

  • boydog129 90 degreesIs Rev. Wright’s hate speak a sound Christian principle?
  • If not, is it okay for a pastor to sprinkle a little hatred from the pulpit now and then, as long as it is not his primary message?
  • Is Rev. Wright’s message really racism against whites or Jews? Was that Christ’s message?
  • Is it correct to preach “blackism” over Christianity or even Islam, in the case of Minister Louis Farrakan and the Nation of Islam?
  • Which is more important in a Christian Church; church culture or Christ’s message?
  • If you found yourself in church that you feel teaches and incorrect message, should you leave the church, stay and fight for change, stay and raise your family there?
  • Can you attend a church for 20 years and not know the message being delivered?
  • How could Senator Obama attend a Christian Church and not understand Christ’s message?
  • What are the odds that over the last 20 years, Senator Obama missed each and every service where Rev. Wright delivered hateful messages?
  • I doze off from time to time in church; could my pastor be a hate monger and I’ve just missed it? Does Senator Obama doze a bit from time to time also?
  • Is Senator Obama telling the truth in this situation?
  • Is Senator Obama raising his family in this church because it is; locally popular? consistent with his values? politically advantages? or because he believes in the message.

I’m sure there are many other facets, but these was enough to overwhelm my pea brain. I guess really I could figure a place to start, but couldn’t follow a clear path through all the muck. As a mere human I can’t really comment on what is going on in Senator Obama’s heart, nor Rev. Wright nor Minister Louis Farrakan’s, but I can highlight a couple of simplified, but obvious conclusions.

  • Sen. Obama knew of Rev. Wright’s hateful teachings, disagreed with them and yet did nothing about it except to lie to America and for God only know what reason, weekly subjected his family to this type of hate.
  • Sen. Obama knew of Rev. Wright’s hateful teachings, agreed with them, lied to America about this agreement, and thinks American’s are stupid enough to believe that he attended this church for 20 years without ever hearing a one of them.

Neither of these is desirable and I don’t see any way that the facts about Sen. Obama’s relationship with Rev. Wright qualify him as an honest person. Rather, either one of these conclusions would seem to make Sen. Obama a liar and disqualify him as material for President of the United States, yet he is still popular.

Have we become so callus in choosing politicians, that we accept liars with out question? Is that why no one asks Sen. Obama’s to explain his message of hope and change; because it may just be a lie anyway so why bother asking?

The Democratic Party and Senator Obama’s push for Socialism in the US is why they lose my vote and the non-truths in this situation is why Sen. Obama also loses my respect.
